Attorney Aaron Watson served as the keynote speaker for the annual Alumni Awards Banquet hosted by the Black Law Students Association(BLSA) at Stetson University College of Law. The vent is held each year to honor alumni and celebrate graduating third-year BLSA members and BLSA accomplishments. Attorney Watson attended the event alongside his wife, Kimberly Watson.
During his speech, attorney Watson encouraged students to follow dreams and challenged them to work hard. Watson shared stories from his time on Stetson’s nationally ranked trial team. He also shared stories from her is personal life, including the founding of his law firm, The Watson Firm. The Watson Firm is a personal injury law firm with two locations in Pensacola, Florida and Fort Walton Beach Florida.
At the end of the event, the president of BLSA presented attorney Watson with the Alumnus of The Year Award. Watson stated, “I am honored to receive this wonderful award from the Black Law Students Association at my alma mater, Stetson College of Law. It meant a lot to me to go back to campus and inspire and encourage the law students.”
At Stetson, Watson served as president of the Black Law Students Association, interned with the U.S. Department of Justice, and volunteered with the Florida Attorney General’s office. He was selected for the Stallworth Trial Team Award by faculty at Stetson for his achievement of excellence in trial advocacy, and he was inducted into The National Order of Barristers for attaining high honor in the art of courtroom advocacy.
